Press Release: JONAH JANG AND MONEY RECOVERED FROM DARIYE 29th December, 2007
The governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, recently averred that he would not touch one kobo of money now being recovered from his predecessor, Joshua Dariye. He pledged to wait until all the money was recovered before using them for projects that could lift the people's standard of living.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) is worried that this may render such colossal amounts idle. We believe that the governor is not receiving the right advice. Instead of wasting such wealth while the citizens suffer in abject poverty, we advise Governor Jang to start using money recovered from his predecessor on projects capable of creating jobs for the youth thus alleviating the people's sufferings.
