Press Release: WORKERS’ DAY:  INVITATION TO PRAYERS FOR NIGERIA 26th April 2007

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) calls for prayers in all mosques throughout the Federation tomorrow Friday 27th April 2007 in commemoration of Workers’ Day (1st May). In particular, MURIC invites its members in Lagos to worship at Alausa Central Mosque, The Secretariat, Ikeja.

Imams throughout the country will pray for the repose of the souls of faithfuls killed during the protests against rigged elections. They will also pray for the families of all the victims of police and army brutalization of protesters. Prayers will also be offered for the restoration of genuine democracy in Nigeria, the assertion of the sovereignty of the citizenry and the return of social justice, peace and tranquillity.

VENUE: Alausa Central Mosque, The Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.
TIME: 1.30-2.30pm
