The Muslim Rights Concern
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) was formed in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1993 in response to various human rights abuses committed against Muslims in Nigeria and elsewhere around the world. It is an Allah-given rights organization. In our little way and within our limited resources, we project, promote and protect the rights of Muslims.
Our motto is "Dialogue, Not Violence". We therefore employ peaceful means to resolve conflicts affecting Muslims and redress wrongs committed against them either by authorities or groups of people. Although we hold that justice is the soul of peace, we believe that violence often causes more afflictions to the innocent. We also pursue a policy of openness to people of all races and discourage campaigns of hatred or violence against the West and its interests. We do this in recognition of the fact that thousands of Western citizens are now openly embracing Islam and also because Islam does not teach racism.
Members of this group are expected to forward to us cases of human rights abuses committed against Muslims around the globe.
Our meetings are held in our branches all over Nigeria every first Sunday from 8.30 - 10 am. New members who wish to attend are welcome. Others around the globe are advised to meet regularly at convenient times but they must liaise with headquarters and embrace our philosophy of non-violence.
We invite you today in the Almighty Name of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala to join us in the struggle for the emancipation of our Muslim brothers and sisters who suffer persecution in various parts of the globe. |
