The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) was formed in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1993 in response to various human rights abuses committed against Muslims in Nigeria and elsewhere around the world. Our motto is "Dialogue, Not Violence". We therefore employ peaceful means to resolve conflicts affecting Muslims and redress wrongs committed against them either by authorities or groups of people. Although we hold that justice is the soul of peace, we believe that violence often causes more afflictions to the innocent. We also pursue a policy of openness to people of all races and discourage campaigns of hatred or violence against the West and its interests.
